A man was shot to death at a Southwest Houston car wash late Monday.
Houston police said Inocencio Martinez-Solis, 36, was killed at Sparkle Car Wash on Alder Drive near Bissonnet Street at about 9:30 p.m.
Officers were investigating a car crash at a neighboring apartment complex when they heard gunshots.
Martinez-Solis’ body was found outside his pickup truck, police said.
Investigators said they think robbery was the motive for the slaying.
“There’s property that his family says he carries on his person that we don’t see on him,” Sgt. Robert Torres said. “His wallet appears to be missing and he may have had some money earlier this evening that he had collected from a job they had done.”
Detectives said Martinez-Solis had a 1-year-old child and a baby on the way.
The driver was described as Hispanic and 42 to 45 years old with a chubby build.
Investigators are checking surveillance videos from nearby businesses to see if anything was caught on camera.
